Welcome To Primary 7Q

There is nothing you can’t do when you are in P7Q!

Another busy term is underway in the P7 classrooms.

In science P7 are taking on the challenge of working towards our 3rd ECO Award. Last week we listened to speeches and have voted four class members onto the committee. Watch out on the web site for more information and updates.

In our Geography this term we are studying Australia. The class did "thought showers" to find out we already knew. We then decided what we wanted to learn about and every week we focus on a new topic. We have learnt lots of new and interesting facts. We wonder could we go on a school outing to Australia??????

Maths is practical in P7 and Mrs. McQuiston is always setting us challenges and investigations.

We have just finished work on percentages in Number and can even work out the January Sale prices!

Now we are moving onto 3-Dimensional Shapes. We will be doing lots of practical challenges including designing and making 3D stars.

We have been studying the life and work of William Shakespeare. We researched his life and made magazine pages using our computer skills. We have read and dramatised the play Macbeth, then writing our own versions.

It has been great fun reading each other’s books. In Art we have made our own masks- be prepared to be scared!

Once again P7’s are taking part in Heartstart. This scheme trains the children in basic first aid and gives them the chance to role play and practise the steps to take in an emergency situation.

A valuable life skill which the P7’s enjoy very much.
