Welcome to Buick Memorial Primary School & Nursery Unit

Welcome back to term 3, which looks to be action packed and exciting for all involved with the school.  Our School Council worked very hard with Mr Beattie and Mrs Connolly last term to plan fundraising ideas for our pupils to raise money for playground resources and ipads.

They presented their ideas to the whole school in Assembly.  These will happen over the course of the term and promise to be exciting, fun and challenging for all our pupils.  Their five ideas are:

·        A bun sale for the whole school.

·        Guess the number of sweets in the jar.

·        A sponsored fun run in the rear playground.

·        A dress up Friday when the teachers will dress as pupils and the pupils will dress as teachers!

·        A copper coin collection.

These will be over the course of the term and we will inform parents accordingly in this weekly note and the school’s website (see web address at top of page).  We are starting with the copper coin collection.  From Monday 20th April 2015 pupils are to bring 1p and 2 p coins to the classroom.  These will be collected until 12th June and the class with the most money per pupil will have big treat – so get collecting, ask family and friends and look down the sides of the settee and chairs!!!!!!!!

Week Commencing 20th April 2015 is Week 2 on Dining Centre Menu - see Buick News for full menu and latest Thursday note for changes on Thursday 26th March.

Welcome to Buick Memorial Primary School’s Official Website. The aim of this dynamic tool is to encourage more effective communication between the school, parents and the local and wider community.

Through exploring the website you will see that our school has a long tradition merged with current thinking and modern ideas about children’s learning. Parents want the best for their children, and Buick Memorial provides the balance between high expectations for all our pupils’ achievements, alongside a caring family atmosphere in which children feel safe, supported and enjoy learning.

Our school offers a broad curriculum, both in and out of the classroom. We utilise a wide range of resources and expertise to ensure every pupil is treated as an individual, yet grows as part of a supportive school team.

Explore and enjoy the website and please feel free to leave comments in the Guestbook or seek advice in Enquiry.  If you wish to visit the school or speak with me, you are welcome to contact the school at any time.
